Frequently asked questions

Which plan should I choose?

It depends on which exam your target university or Studienkolleg requires. If you only need the TestAS (common for the Bachelor/Studienkolleg admission route at many universities), Pro TestAS covers everything you need — full mock exams across the Core Test and all four subject modules, plus AI feedback. If your program requires German-language proof instead, TestDaF Pro gives you full practice across all four sections including AI speaking evaluation. If you're not yet sure which exam(s) your target programs will actually require, or you know you'll need both (some Studienkolleg-then-Bachelor's pathways effectively require TestAS first and a language certificate later), the Bundle covers both at a lower combined price than buying the two plans separately. Start on the Free tier regardless — it lets you try the actual question format and platform before committing to a paid plan, so you're not upgrading blind.

Do prices vary by country?

Yes. Pricing is shown in your local currency and adjusted by country/region — students in Vietnam and China see VND and CNY pricing respectively, while other countries are billed in USD or EUR. This isn't a discount promotion; it reflects that a single flat international price would be disproportionately expensive relative to local costs in some markets. Prices are calculated automatically based on your account's country setting, so you'll always see the correct localized price before checking out rather than a generic default that gets adjusted later.

Can I cancel or get a refund?

StudienA Pro purchases are one-time payments for a fixed access duration (1, 3, 6 or 12 months) rather than an auto-renewing subscription, so there's nothing to cancel — access simply ends when the purchased period is up, and you won't be charged again unless you actively buy another period. Because Pro unlocks the full digital content (mock exams, AI feedback) immediately upon payment, purchases are treated as delivered at that point and are non-refundable, including for unused time or a change of mind. If you're unsure whether a plan fits your needs, use the Free tier and the public exam previews first to confirm the format works for you before upgrading.

What's the difference between the free tier and a paid plan?

The Free tier gives you the complete study-in-Germany guides (timeline, checklist, APS, uni-assist, visa) and a limited set of TestAS/TestDaF practice questions at no cost, with no time limit and no credit card required — it's not a trial that expires. Upgrading to a paid plan unlocks the full mock-exam bank for your chosen exam (dozens of complete exams rather than a handful of sample questions), detailed standard-score and percentile analytics after each attempt, and AI-powered feedback — for TestAS, feedback that highlights your weak areas by question type, and for TestDaF, an AI speaking grader plus written feedback on your essays. In short: Free lets you evaluate the platform and get real study-in-Germany information; paid plans are for the actual exam-preparation grind.

Do StudienA Pro plans renew automatically?

No. Every StudienA Pro purchase (Pro TestAS, TestDaF Pro, or the Bundle) is a one-time payment for a fixed access period — 1, 3, 6, or 12 months — not a recurring subscription. StudienA never automatically charges your card again when that period ends; if you want continued access afterward, you actively choose and pay for a new period yourself. This also means there's no subscription to cancel: access simply expires at the end of the period you paid for, with no risk of surprise renewal charges.

What happens when my Pro access period ends?

Your account reverts to the Free tier — you keep the complete study-in-Germany guides and the limited set of TestAS/TestDaF practice questions, but lose access to the full mock-exam bank, detailed analytics, and AI feedback until you purchase a new access period. Your account, progress history, and any completed mock-exam results aren't deleted, so if you buy another period later — say, ahead of a retake — you're picking back up where you left off rather than starting over. There's no automatic renewal, so this transition only happens if you choose not to purchase a new period.
