About the TestAS

• The TestAS measures cognitive abilities important for university study rather than subject knowledge. It is commonly required for the Bachelor/Studienkolleg route and is frequently needed for the German student visa.
• It has a Core Test plus one subject-specific module (Engineering; Economics; Mathematics, Computer Science & Natural Sciences; or Humanities, Cultural Studies & Social Sciences), and is offered in English or German.
• Scoring uses a standard score (around 90–110 is average) and a percentile rank. There is no negative marking, so never leave an answer blank.
• Register a few weeks ahead and sit it several months before your application deadline, so results arrive in time for uni-assist and the visa.
