How studying in Germany works
- Learn German and, where required, obtain an APS certificate (mandatory for applicants from countries such as Vietnam and China).
- Take the TestAS (for the Bachelor/Studienkolleg route) and a German-language exam (TestDaF/DSH/telc C1 Hochschule).
- Apply to universities, usually through uni-assist, by the intake deadline.
- Prove your finances, typically with a blocked account (Sperrkonto); the required amount changes yearly.
- Get health insurance and apply for the German student visa with the full application packet.
