TestAS Structure 2026: Distinguish the Two Formats
TestAS is offered as digital TestAS and paper-based TestAS. They do not use the same number of sections or the same detailed scoring system.
Digital TestAS
- Core Test: 3 subtests, 60 items, about 90 minutes including the introduction.
- Choose 1 of 6 subject modules, lasting 90 minutes.
- Core and subject module each receive 0-200 points, for a 0-400 total, plus percentile information.
Paper-Based TestAS
- Core Test: 4 subtests, 110 minutes.
- Choose 1 of 4 subject modules.
- The subject module lasts about 145-150 minutes, depending on the field.
The six digital modules are Humanities/Cultural/Social Sciences; Life Sciences; Engineering; Mathematics/Computer Science/Natural Sciences; Economics; and Medicine. The paper version groups fields into four broader modules.
Before preparing, confirm which format, language, and module your university requires. Fees and dates depend on the test center.
