What Is TestAS? Updated 2026 Guide
TestAS is an academic aptitude test for international applicants seeking entry to a basic degree program in Germany. Universities may use it as a requirement, bonus, or ranking criterion. There is no single nationwide pass mark.
TestAS has two formats:

| Paper-based | 4 subtests, 110 minutes | choose 1 of 4 modules, about 145-150 minutes | standard score 70-130 and percentile rank separately for Core and module |
The exam is offered in German and English. Choose the language, format, and module required by your university, rather than simply choosing what feels easiest. An official conversion table links the two result systems, but each university decides how to use the scores.
